A. Trade Associations
Mr Gandhi has been very actively associated with Trade & Industry. He was a president of Chemical &Alkali Merchant Association, an apexbody of Chemical Trade at Vadagadi for the years 1983-84. He was promoter- Director of Antop Hill Warehousing Co. Ltd. Which has huge ware Housing Complex at Vadala.
He was Chairman of Chemical & Alkali Merchants Association Relief Fund. He also held posting as 1 st & 2 nd Vice President of Indian Speciality Chemicals Manufacturing Association during 1987 – 1991 and was its President in the Year 1991 – 92. This association is an apexbody of small medium & large scale Manufactures of Speciality Chemicals.
He has also been Secretary & President of Manchester Technical Association of India . He is a member of UDCT Alumini Association and was member of the Committee for few years.
B. Social Service
He has one reserved Seat for Postgraduate Student not having accommadation in Bombay to Stay at C.U. Shah Hostel, Sion for further studies . Has one seat reserved for girl student at Kadi Kanya Vidyalaya, Kadi, Gujarat . He has Established L.N. CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES U.D.C.T. Diamond Jubilee Visiting Fellowship in Textile Chemistry Section of U.D.C.T. He donated for the main gate of Arts College being constructed at Becharaji, N. Gujarat .
He establised Hospital (Prime Health Centre) at Modhera Gujara, his native place. Almost all major needs of Secondary School at Modhera are met by him or his family members.
He establised a Rural Development Center Called Late Raiben Nathalal Gandhi Puruskut Anarde Foundation at Modhera 12-13 years ago. Though this foundation Great effort has been made for all round development of people below poverty lines. Villages covered are about in five Talukas of Mehsana District.
He plays pivotal role in various Self Employment, Womens self Help groups, Farmer clubs, Water shed projects, Agriculture based activities. It is estimated that through these activities economic benefit of over Rs. 500 crores accrued to people and more than 10000/- families have been brought over poverty lines. His Centres activities have been videly reported in press. All these are carried out with the active support of Government & help of Banks like Dena, UCO, Nabard, State Bank , Gramin Bank. Our Centre has become a sort of a ‘Model Centre' which has been visited by various NGOS of different states, and foreign visitors. On completion of ten Years of the Centre Mr. Gandhi was honoured by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Keshubhai Patel by shawl at a public functions at Surat . |
